It’s safe to say that Jemima lives a double life. At times, she’s a level-headed English content writer, living quietly in a bucolic region of Central Portugal. However, increasingly, her fiction-crafting alter ego Jemima Mori seems to take the reins, and that could lead us anywhere.

When I talk about Jemima Mori, I suppose that’s me, although it’s hard to say — what exactly is the right etiquette when referring to one version of the self, hosted alongside another, inside a single body? If I am she, and she is sometimes me, and I’m talking to you, but she might not even know you’re here, things can get to feel a little spun about.

However, I digress. As an author, I write quirky, liminal fiction that is intended to feel immersive, nurturing, liberating, exploratory, sometimes dark, occasionally fetishistic, and somewhat unpredictable — but also safe. If that sounds appealing, perhaps we should lean into this softer sort of strange together?
